Subject Statement of Intent
The intent of our History curriculum is to inspire all children to become inquisitive, active learners. It is our intention that the children will develop a love of history and acquire an understanding of who they are, the complexity of people’s lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups. It is our aim to embed historical knowledge, skills, and vocabulary, so that our children will understand the world in a meaningful context.
As part of their study of World War 2, Year 6 opened a museum of WW2 artefacts. Some of the artefacts were museum loans, others sent in by friends and family and members of the community. The museum was very professionally run and Mrs Owen, Mrs Mussell and other classes all enjoyed their visit to the Year Six World War Two Museum. The children's historical knowledge was very impressive.
